NativeScript: Native apps in Javascript without WebView

May 7, 2015Front-End, Tools, Uncategorizedjfadev

NativeScript It is a open source framework of Telerik that allows you to use JavaScript to build native mobile applications for Apple iOS, Google Android and, in the future, Windows Universal.

Unlike Apache Cordova and PhoneGap in the development of cross-platform applications, NativeScript you get direct access to native APIs and UI performance on native platforms and not an encapsulation in WebView.

It provides a simple way, easy and modern to build native cross-platform mobile applications with JavaScript with the best possible user experience provided by the operating system with a single base code, which simplifies the development and significantly increases productivity.

Other characteristics important in this framework is that you can integrate with the popular Google Javascript AngularJs framework 2.0.

  • fix(android): prevent memory leak from reused CustomTransition animator (#11270)CustomTransition exposed a single shared AnimatorSet (this.animatorSet)and returned it from onAppear/onDisappear. androidx clones the transitionper run but shares this field, and the framework attaches its own endlisteners (Visibility$OverlayListener, etc.) to the returned AnimatorSet.For zero-duration ("none") navigation those listeners are not removed, soa reused CustomTransition accumulated one stale listener per navigation, each retaining the previous fragment and its page view. With animationsdisabled this leaked the entire navigation history; the leaked Java viewsin turn kept their linked JS objects alive forever.Run on a per-invocation clone of the AnimatorSet so framework listenersland on a throwaway instance and the shared template stays clean, andrelease the animated view (mView) when the animation ends.[skip ci], GitHub
